Sydney: Security guard killed after fast food robbery
SHOCKED shopkeepers have spoken of their devastation and grief following the brutal bashing death of an elderly security guard and devoted family man.
Adrian Gallaher, 32, from Randwick and Lana Avrashkova, 27, from Maroubra, have today been charged with the manslaughter of Mr Schulz, who died after he was attacked at Wendy’s ice-cream kiosk at Broadway Shopping Centre last night.
Mr Gallaher is charged with killing Mr Schulz by punching him, while Ms Avrashkova is charged with killing him by kicking him in the head, court papers showed.
The pair did not appear in Newtown Local Court where their case was mentioned and did not apply for bail when they appeared in a Sydney court.
Mr Schulz – originally from Germany, now living in Manly on Sydney’s northern beaches – suffered serious injuries in the attack, which was witnessed by two children aged five and three.
