People’s Pleasure Ground
Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, provided field guidance to the Rungra People’s Pleasure Ground which is near completion.
He looked round first the mini golf course.
He said the mini golf course was built in good harmony with natural circumstances.
Asking how the course would be run, he paid deep attention to the attire of service workers.
He urged the need to plant many trees at the course to give a fresh shade to visitors in summer.
Then he looked round the Rungra Wading Pool.
He was pleased to see different facilities and surroundings of the wading pool dealt with white, blue and green colors so as to make the whole atmosphere of the pool look clean and fresh.
Looking round the basketball, volleyball and sandy volleyball courts on the roof of the shower room, he said with satisfaction that space was used in a rational manner and the circumstances of the pool were changed beyond recognition.
He stressed the need to equip the wading pool with the first aid room and observation stand and take a measure for relief.
Saying that the pool was built well to suit the name of the people’s pleasure ground and serve as a model, he gave an instruction to build such a wading pool in local cities.
Estimating all things of the wading pool as perfect as to make him please, he repeatedly praised the soldier builders’ feats.
The last leg of his guidance was the Rungra Dolphinarium.
At a soft-drink stand and souvenirs counter he acquainted himself with their service plans and at a scientific and technical knowledge dissemination room he stressed the need to provide it with more facilities to give a wide knowledge on the sea.
In the dolphin hall he saw different skillful movements of dolphins.
Noting that leader Kim Jong Il had been specially interested in the Rungra People’s Pleasure Ground, he earnestly said if he had seen it, he would have been overjoyed.
Noting that grand monumental edifices such as the Rungra People’s Pleasure Ground are being built in succession in Pyongyang City, he called for building more structures suitable to the ideological sentiment and aesthetic aspiration and requirement of our people across the country.
